This is an exciting and challenging role for someone who wants the responsibility of  supervising and managing a small team across different sites. The role will cover supervision of the QC team and managing occasional R&D projects. Supervision of  packaging lines and responsibility for QC of  raw materials, in process, and finished products will be required on a daily basis. Working knowledge of HPLC, GC, IR, UV, wet chemistry and loss in drying would be required as troubleshooting and method development may be required.

The main duties of the role will involve:.

1.       Writing and maintain analytical methods and standard operating procedures for the laboratory.

2.       Undertake COSHH and Risk Assessments for laboratory work as appropriate.

3.       Ensure process integrity checks are undertaken by visual inspection, analytically verification internally or externally as appropriate.

4.       Liaise with external laboratories and service engineers as required.

5.       Monitor any process as required by the Environmental Agency.

6.       Develop new and existing analytical methods as appropriate.

7.       Develop new and existing formulations as necessary.

8.       Keep Technical Director informed of quality issues.

9.       Identify when new equipment is required and prepare cost justification.
